Coaching

Greenacres Golf Club’s PGA-qualified Professional, Alistair Palmer, is available by appointment to help you get the most from your game and maximise your enjoyment out on the course.

Players of all levels from beginners to professionals can benefit. After your current game and your strengths and weaknesses are analysed, your long-term aims will be discussed and a mutually agreed plan developed to help you achieve them.

Inspired by simple, clear and concise instruction that has been proven to get results time after time, watch your game improve, confidence soar and handicap fall.

Lessons are available to improve every area of a golfer’s game. For the better golfer, on-course playing lessons are available, covering among other things game management and mental skills and offering an invaluable insight into how a Professional thinks.

Sometimes it is more fun (and cost-effective) learning together with family, friends or workmates in a group environment, so group clinics and workshops are also available by appointment.

Lessons are so much more beneficial with accompanying practice facilities on hand to enable the golfer to ingrain new swing thoughts and techniques quickly and easily. Greenacres has some fine practice facilities which encourage the keen golfer to work on their game. These include:

Driving Range - There is a driving range alongside the clubhouse (parallel to the number 1 tee) available for practice or a warm-up before the round, complete with distance boards at 90 metres, 135 metres, 180metres and 220 metres.Golf balls are available for hire from the GolfShop.

Short Game - Practice bunkers and a practice chipping green are also available to those looking to sharpen up their short game. Being able to get up and down from around the green is one of the quickest ways for the intermediate-level golfer to lower their handicap. For scratch interclub players and would-be Pros, it’s a must. Some focused work on the chipping green can turn bogeys into pars and pars into birdies out on the course.

Putting - Work on acquainting yourself with the pace and the true-rolling nature of the surfaces that you will find out on the course.

Warm-up practice nets:near the clubhouse, are perfect for the golfer arriving at the course short of time and looking for a quick hit before taking to the first tee.
